Process Art | Design | Somatic Works | Found Objects | Experimental Writing | Zines
My work is always a reflection of my haptic environment and often created from found objects and natural materials. A minimalist and graphic nature is inherent in all of my work; poetry is a perpetual guide. My process is often rooted in physical awareness, attempting to find visual expression for the subtle convulsions that make up our perceived reality, felt or otherwise. This interplay between absolutely subjective impressions and the anthropomorphic theme of physical existence serves as ongoing inspiration. My studies are influenced, among other things, by M.E.Prigge’s graphic language, Henri Lefebvre’s rhythm analyses, Agnes Martin’s eternal obligation to repetition, and Alfred Hruschka’s weathered world of objects. The always process-oriented work is characterized by varying materials and media, which are nevertheless united by an unmistakable aesthetic. The works, which are understood as ‘receipts’ of the process, range from abstract line drawings on paper to found object installations to photographic explorations as well as performances and ongoing collaborations. I consciously blur possible boundaries between classic fine art, graphic design and avant-garde practices.
